ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Social Sciences and Law trains highly qualified specialists. The department is headed by Candidate of Law, Assistant Associate Professor Umurzakov Ermek Anuarbekovich.


The mission of the department is aimed at training and developing qualified, competent and socially oriented specialists in the field of humanitarian knowledge and law; forming high-quality human capital that can make a worthy contribution to sustainable socio-economic development and the image of the country and capable of effectively working at the junction of internal and external political and economic space, in the field of professional communication, using foreign languages at the level of world standards and setting goals to create conditions for the formation of professional and social competence, ready to contribute to the development and strengthening of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the new conditions of society development.


The purpose of the department: improving the quality and competitiveness of the educational programs implemented in accordance with world practice; training specialists with innovative thinking and mastered fundamental knowledge; orientation towards professional social order through the formation of special (general and special) competencies related to the necessary types of educational and practical activities, adjusted to meet the requirements of employers; increasing the effectiveness of scientific research and innovation, creating comfortable conditions for the personal, moral, intellectual, creative and professional development of the team; creating favorable conditions for learning and personal, scientific, creative growth of the student.

Educational programs.

The department, as a structural subdivision of the International Transport Humanitarian University, is a graduation department for the following educational programs:


6B04210 - Jurisprudence, graduates of the educational program "6B04210 - Jurisprudence" are awarded the qualification of Bachelor of Laws.


The main goal of this educational program is to train competitive, socially responsible personnel with professional and personal competencies with target orientations in the civil service, law enforcement and judicial bodies.


6B04234 - Lawyer in judicial and law enforcement activities, Graduates are awarded the qualification of Bachelor of Laws.


The main goal of this educational program is to train highly professional, competent lawyers for law enforcement and judicial bodies, possessing theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of law enforcement.


6B04232 - Legal activity in the field of human rights protection, Graduates are awarded the qualification of Bachelor of Laws. The main objective of this educational program is to train high-level specialists in the field of jurisprudence, capable of competently applying the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of compliance, ensuring and protecting the rights and freedoms of man and citizen to protect those guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

6B03101 - International Relations, is based on a unique educational concept and is aimed at training specialists in the field of international relations who have fundamental knowledge and combine the skills of analysts and practitioners. In its totality, such an educational approach develops a holistic vision of the world in graduates and at the same time allows them to quickly and effectively engage in practical work.


6B003103 - Psychology, the educational program is a system of documents developed and approved taking into account the requirements of the labor market. Preparation for professional activity of bachelors of psychology includes solving complex problems in the field of education, health care, law, management, social assistance to the population, research and consulting organizations providing psychological services to individuals and organizations.

Methodological work at the department is carried out on the basis of educational and methodological work plans. At the meetings of the section, issues of introduction and use in the educational process of new innovative technologies and active teaching methods, publication of educational, methodological and electronic literature are considered.

The level of methodological support of the educational process meets modern requirements, which allows the introduction of active methods and forms of training. Various interactive forms of training are used: discussions, Internet technologies, work in small groups, role-playing games, simulations, business games.


The introduction of modular technology into the educational process aimed at the formation of general cultural, professional and special competencies will improve the quality of education.

Scientific activity.

The research work of the faculty of the Department of Social Sciences and Law is carried out in accordance with the Operational Plan of the Department, the plans for research and development of the teaching staff, research and development work, the plan for scientific and publishing work of the Department, approved at a meeting of the Department, as well as according to individual plans for research and development work of teachers.


The research activities of the Department are aimed at increasing the scientific and pedagogical potential and improving the quality of training students and master's students of the University. The activities of the Department are aimed at improving the quality of training personnel who meet the standards of university education in the field of jurisprudence, lawyer in judicial and law enforcement activities, legal activities in the field of human rights protection, international relations and psychology.


The purpose of the research work of the department is to closely integrate science and education, participate in applied research, determine priorities for the development of social and legal science and the main areas of applied research, search for advanced scientific ideas and develop recommendations for their development and implementation, create a theoretical basis for developing students' analytical, research and innovation competencies.


The tasks of the research work of the department:


participation in applied research;


- participation in the formation of programs and methods of scientific research and implementation of topics by the performers;


- drawing up calendar plans, semi-annual and annual reports of research;


- combining the scientific and intellectual potential of the department to solve scientific and applied problems in the field of research in the field of legal disciplines;


- participation in the training of highly qualified personnel;


- assistance, organization of research work of students (NIRO, student circle "Investigator-criminalist");


- organization of research in accordance with the requirements of the quality management system.


Research work is one of the most important areas of the department's activities. The faculty of the department organizes scientific and practical conferences of various levels, including: international scientific, regional and republican conferences.


The department pays considerable attention to the scientific work of students. They complete final qualifying works on the disciplines of the department, actively participate in the activities of scientific student circles "Criminalist", "Internationalist", "Psychologist" and make reports at student scientific conferences.


The results of research work are tested in the form of publication of articles in the journals of the Committee for Control of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, periodicals, including those of near and far abroad countries, in collections based on the results of participation in international and republican conferences of theoretical and practical directions, participation in round tables and scientific seminars.


Theoretical and practical results of scientific research are actively introduced into the educational process by using basic and elective disciplines in the course of teaching and developing educational and methodological complexes for them. Based on the teaching aids and scientific monographs prepared by the teaching staff, original courses and special courses have been developed, which are offered by the department as elective disciplines and supplements to basic disciplines in the relevant specialties and are included in the working curricula.


The department has a classroom to support the educational process in the disciplines of forensic science, forensic examination and judicial proceedings. The classroom is equipped with stands, forensic equipment and training programs.


The classroom hosts classes in the framework of role-playing games, brainstorming, and frontal questioning. In addition, the educational and methodological room is periodically equipped with visual materials on changes in legislation and its enforcement in practice. The work is carried out by leading teachers of the department, who have extensive teaching and practical experience.

Student achievements.

The educational activities of the curatorial staff of the Department of Social Sciences and Law are carried out in accordance with the Operational Plan of Educational Work, department plans, as well as individual plans of educational work of advisers. Educational work is carried out in parallel with the educational process with full coverage of the student contingent, in an independent plan, the educational process is carried out as autonomous work of curators in the department and curators in groups. The educational process, as a humanitarian-ideological and socio-legal work, reflects a certain specificity, which is manifested in the approved plans, real results and the human factor. The student audience is a rather complex social group, if in the educational process the goals and objectives are realized in the learning process itself, then the educational process affects issues of legality, fundamental culture, ideology, history and student life.

Infrastructure

Scientific and methodological office "Criminalistics"

The main objective of the office is to assist the department in organizing and training students by providing training that meets the level and needs of the modern market of highly qualified specialists with professional knowledge, skills, practical skills and competencies in combination with a high personal culture of communication and self-organization of the implementation of research work on the profile of the department aimed at developing and using the acquired knowledge, skills and competencies of future specialists in independent practical activities. The scientific and methodological office is equipped with: a computer, a printer, a projector, an interactive board, as well as technical and forensic tools: a unified forensic suitcase (with consumables), a UV lamp, microscopes, visual educational objects (for fingerprinting, traceology, ballistics)

Master of Humanities Ilimkoja A.E. successfully completed a scientific internship at the CMC on the modern history of Uzbekistan under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan from March 15 to April 14, 2023. The scientific internship was included in the implementation plan of the Interstate Program "Organization of joint research to study and popularize the common cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan", and was carried out in accordance with the individual internship plan. Master of Humanities S.K. Bugytayeva completed a scientific internship at the George Washington University (GWU - George Washington University), at the Elliott School of International Affairs, at the Sigurd Asian Studies Center, Washington, USA, from November to December 2022. Completed training courses for teachers of Chinese abroad at Lanzhou University from February to May 2023, 72 hours, Lanzhou, China, in an online format. Winner of the Korea Foundation Scholarship for research activities in Korea, March 2023. Master of Humanities G.O. Dauletova completed a research internship at the Universidad CEU San Pablo (Madrid, Spain) from November 21, 2022 to December 22, 2022.


Master of Law, senior lecturer E.S. Kuandykova completed a research internship abroad at the Law Institute of Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn (Estonia) from February 7, 2023 to March 21, 2023.


In 2023, the department signed agreements with the Kyrgyz State University named after E.
