1) an interview with the applicant, conducted by the MTSU examination committee before the entrance exam.
2) test to determine readiness for doctoral studies (hereinafter referred to as TGO);
3) answers to examination questions on the profile of the educational program group;
4) essay writing;
The final grade is a set of points obtained by summing up the results of assessing essays, technical assessments, answering exam questions on the profile of the educational program group and an interview.
The entrance exam to doctoral studies takes 4 hours (240 minutes), of which:
- for TGO – 50 minutes;
- to write essays and answers to examination questions on the profile of the educational program group - 190 minutes (3 hours 10 minutes).
The results of the entrance exam are announced the next day after it is held. Applicants can view the results of the entrance exam in their personal account.
Persons who have scored at least 75 points in the entrance exam are enrolled in doctoral studies under the state educational order on a competitive basis; on a paid basis, at least 75 points out of a possible 100 points.
The application for appeal is accepted the next day after the announcement of the results of the entrance exam at the regional testing center from 13:00 to 13:40.
Applications for appeal are considered by the university appeal commission within one day from the date of submission of the application.
An appeal from persons entering doctoral studies on the content of test tasks and technical reasons of the TGO block is considered by the Republican Appeal Commission.
An appeal for technical reasons must be submitted by applicants during the entrance exam. An appeal for a technical reason is considered in the event that a fragment of the test task conditions is missing.
The specific facts set out in the application for appeal are subject to consideration.
If a missing fragment (text, diagrams, pictures, tables) of the test task conditions is detected, as a result of which it is impossible to determine the correct answer, the applicant makes a note on the screen in the “technical appeal” tab.
An appeal regarding the content of test tasks is considered in the following cases:
1) the correct answer does not match the code of the correct answers (the correct answer option is indicated);
2) there is no correct answer;
3) there is more than one correct answer in test tasks with the choice of one correct answer from all those proposed (all options for correct answers are indicated);
4) incorrectly composed test task;
When submitting an application for content revision of test tasks, the applicant provides a reasoned justification (full explanation).
Applications for an appeal for the revision of all test tasks without indicating a motivated basis (full explanation, step-by-step solution of problems) are not subject to consideration.
Based on the results of the online appeal, the results of the entrance exam are displayed in the applicant’s personal account, taking into account the appeal.

Scale for converting scores from the international standardized test GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) into scores on the entrance exam to doctoral studies
Points for the fields of education "Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics", "Information and Communication Technologies", "Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction Industries", areas of training "Business and Management".
The GRE certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of passing the test.
